Zan and Diane met in grad school, actually taking a Jane Austen course together, and have been friends ever since. We have had many, many deeply nerdy Austen-based conversations in the intervening years and that's how we decided to create The Thing About Austen. We hope you enjoy our conversations about the material world and culture that shapes Austen's fiction. Come for the historical context and stay for the literary shenanigans.

ZAN

Zan Cammack (she/her) has been a Janeite since she was 15 when she played at hooky basketball camp to read Austen in the park. Her favourite Austen novel is Persuasion.
